Where's the Beef?

I stole this from the Drudge Report and an article entitled "Eating veggies shrinks the brain" is about an Oxford study that apparently claims "going veggie could be bad for your brain- with those on a meat-free diet six times more likely to suffer brain shrinkage."

It goes on say that vegans and vegetarians are "most likely to be deficient" because of the lack of vitamins, dairy products, and yada yada yada.

Do I think this is true? No, not really, but it did give me a really good laugh. It's also a little hokey that the age range of people tested on was 61 to 87. Perhaps the Early Bird Special IHOP crowd makes for a representative data pool of people not eligible for retirement.

Two of my closest friends are vegan and vegetarian and through them I've tried some things I would never voluntarily pay for. I'm sorry, egg substitute and rice milk do not tickle my fancy. Although, I have to give props to some yummy hummus I've had.

Here's the link for the complete article.
